
Society membership
Any body, association or organisation (whether corporate or unincorporated) with 30 or more members is eligible to be considered a Society Member of the Hellenic Centre if its aims and objectives fit in with our own.
Benefits of society membership
Membership entitles the society to the following:
- Free use of the Friends & Members Room (including basic AV equipment) for ONE evening per year (Monday to Friday, access from 18:30‐22:30 only) to encourage Societies to contribute to the Cultural life of the Centre and to promote their own activities. This event must be a cultural event, e.g. Lecture or Concert, open to the public and free of charge. Only one free booking is permitted per calendar year and cannot be carried forward to another year. If the event is cancelled within one calendar month of the event date, the Society will lose their free booking allowance.
- Free evening use of the Print Room or the Glass Room for meetings, up to ten times per year.
(NB: in term-time, when our Greek Language courses are underway, these rooms are often busy; please have alternative dates in mind) - Discounted rates on room bookings (terms and conditions apply).
- General Benefits: Programme three times annually; representation at all general meetings of the Hellenic Centre (each society may send up to 3 representatives, but has only one vote; the person exercising the vote on behalf of the Society has to be an Individual Member of the Hellenic Centre).
- Listing on our website accompanied with your logo, a few words about your Society and a link in the Society’s website
- Use of the Hellenic Centre address for society correspondence and supply of a pigeonhole for mail (all mail must be collected from the HC office during general opening hours. Mail cannot be forwarded to a given address).

Anglo-Hellenic League
Dedicated to promoting Anglo-Greek understanding and friendship, through charitable and cultural work.

Association of Constantinopolitan Greeks in the UK
Preserving and disseminating of both the historical and cultural heritage of the Greek Orthodox Community of Constantinople, Imvros and Tenedos, and the customs, traditions, arts and letters of the Constantinopolitan Greeks.

Cypriot Estia of London
A non-political, cultural and philanthropic association founded in 1976 with the principal aims of encouraging friendly and harmonious relations between the Greek Cypriot community and other nationalities in the UK.

Greek Archaeological Committee (UK)
Disseminating information on current archaeological work in Greece to British academics and the public at large, to build international recognition.

Hellenic Bankers Association
The Hellenic Bankers Association UK was founded in 1994 to promote closer cooperation among bankers and financial professionals of Hellenic origin based in the United Kingdom.

Hellenic Engineers Society
The Hellenic Engineers Society of Great Britain supports and promotes professional and social contact amongst our members and in particular newly appointed engineering professionals within the Shipping industry.

Hellenic Foundation
The Hellenic Foundation, founded in 1982, is a grant making charity which supports the propagation and study in Great Britain of the culture and heritage of Greece.

Lykion ton Hellinidon London
The Lykion Ton Hellinidon London was founded in London in 1979, for the purpose of preserving and disseminating Greek culture. An important feature of the Lykion’s programme is the teaching of Greek folkloric dances.

Macedonian Society of Great Britain
The Macedonian Society of Great Britain is a registered Charity in England, founded in 1989, with the aim of promoting the Macedonian history, culture and heritage of Greece.

Oinoussai Benevolent Fund
The Oinoussian Benevolent Fund (Ταμείον Ευπραγίας Οινουσσών) was founded in 1942 by Oinoussians outside the then occupied Greece. Its aim was to assist those remaining on the island and their families who, due to the occupation, were in dire need.

Omilos Eksipiretiron (Servers’ Society)
Omilos Eksipiretiton (The Servers’ Society, est. 1980) is a School of Thought and Action in Greece. With decades of completely selfless service and great cultural work, the centre of the work of Omilos is the human being, the emergence and prominence of the human spirit.

The Hellenic Tech Network (#hellenictech) is a non-profit association which was created in 2021 to promote a closer cooperation among professionals in technology companies and start-up founders of Hellenic origin across the globe. The aim is to highlight topics of interest by organising panel discussions and creating digital content, while promoting Greece’s potential in attracting talented individuals within the global innovative ecosystem.

Society for Modern Greek Studies
For almost a century and a half the Hellenic Society has been the leading organisation for the study of Greece with an international membership across all ages and walks of life. It maintains a world class library and publishes internationally acclaimed journals in the field.

The London Hellenic Prize
The London Hellenic Prize, awarded every year since its establishment in 1996, has over its 27-year history enriched strong cultural connections between England, Greece and Hellenism. The LHP is a prestigious award committed to promoting Classical, Byzantine and Modern Hellenic culture in the English-speaking world, while specifically encouraging Anglo-Hellenic cultural exchange.

Alkionides UK
Alkionides UK supports low-income families from Cyprus and Greece undergoing medical treatment in UK hospitals. It provides free accommodation in north London. They also have a dynamic team in Birmingham and the Midlands who similarly support patients sent to Queen Elizabeth Hospital. They raise funds with the help of generous sponsors and by organising cultural events and social functions
