Papyrus Fragments – Lost Stories from Ancient Greece

A talk exploring the lost literature of ancient Greece that survives only on fragments of papyrus. A papyrus specialist will detail the journey of these fragments and the challenges of deciphering and protecting them. Practitioners from theatre company Potential Difference will discuss how they have taken inspiration from these fragments to create a new play inspired by fragmentation and Greek myth.

Papadiamandis for the English World

An event to celebrate the publication of the second volume of a projected 4-volume representative sample in English translation of the literary work of Alexandros Papadiamandis (1851–1911).

On the occasion of the launch of the second volume of The Boundless Garden the organisers and the presenters wish to share their knowledge and love of this neglected Greek author with English-speaking readers.

The Sea and the Greeks: A Voyage Though the Centuries

Since the dawn of history and until today, the geopolitical map of the world has changed many times over. Voyage through history with this lecture from Sir Efthimios E. Mitropoulos KCMG. What has not changed is the sea. Learn about historical milestones, from the Battle of Salamis, to the contribution of the Greek Navy to the country’s liberation from the 400-year occupation by the Ottoman Turks and to today’s miracle of Greek shipping constituting 20% of the world merchant fleet by gross tonnage.

Cyprus Seeds Initiative

Leveraging High Quality Innovative Research in Cyprus

Cyprus Seeds is a non-profit organisation that promotes the commercialisation of scientific research in Cyprus, through funding, mentoring, networking and coaching. The Managing Director of Cyprus Seeds, Ms Maria Georgiadou, will present  the program and elaborate on its benefits to Cyprus. She will also introduce two out of the seven research Teams participating in the first cycle of the Cyprus Seeds program, who will talk about their innovative research and the value they got from Cyprus Seeds.
