The Ring: A Tale of Cretan Resistance Against the Nazis
on 29 May 2025Award-winning performance storyteller Anna Conomos-Wedlock presents her new work, The Ring—a gripping tale of bravery, sacrifice, and the unbreakable spirit of a child messenger who risked everything for freedom during the Cretan Resistance against Nazi forces. This dramatic performance blends theatrical storytelling with music and songs from the island of Crete, bringing to life an unforgettable chapter in history, to mark the eighty year anniversary of the Cretan resistance.

The Divided Island: Screening and Q&A
on 22 May 2025The Divided Island brings the Cyprus issue into sharp focus, attempting an objective perspective on this complex and long-standing conflict. After 50 years of stalled negotiations, the documentary presents a narrative aimed at finding a peaceful solution to reunite Nicosia, Europe’s last divided capital. Directed by Cey Sesiguzel and co-produced by Andreas Tokkallos. The Q&A will be hosted by BFI Digital Production Editor and Film Programmer Georgia Korossi.

Athos: Echoes from the Holy Mountain – Panel Discussion and Listening Session
At Tate Modern on 17 May 2025FLEE collective presents their extensive research on Mount Athos, a monastic peninsula in northeastern Greece that has been central to Eastern Orthodox monasticism for over a millennium. Including a listening session with original recordings from the 1960s as well as more recent ones. The conversation will include FLEE, Makar Tereshin and Michelangelo Paganopoulos.

This exciting experience brings to life beloved Greek Gods and Goddesses, including Athena and Poseidon, in a fun and engaging day for both children and adults. During the workshop, children will create a dance inspired by the myth of Icarus and Daedalus, exploring movement and storytelling through the lens of ancient mythology. Prepare for a day filled with creativity, movement, and the magic of Greek myths, guided by Jessica Van de Koot and her talented team of dancers! For children aged 5 – 12 years.
