Kitromilides & Constantinos Tsoukalas for The Greek Revolution: A Critical Dictionary published by Harvard University Press. The prizegiving will take place at the Academy of Athens, it will be awarded by H.E. the President of the Hellenic Republic Ms Katerina Sakellaropoulou.

SEFERIS – CYPRUS – ASIA MINOR: “memory hurts wherever you touch it”
At The Hellenic Centre on 03 Nov 2022Giorgos Seferis, one of the most important Greek poets and a Nobel laureate, had a deep connection with Cyprus.
At the concert, seven symphonic poems will be performed from the collection “Κύπρον ου μ’ εθέσπισεν” which was published in December 1955.

Songs of Asia Minor
At The Hellenic Centre on 29 Oct 2022Asia Minor music reflects the synthesis of the western tradition of polyphony with the eastern tradition of modes and microtones. During the great population movement in the Balkans in the early 20th century, outstanding musicians from Constantinople, Smyrna and the west coast of Asia Minor settled on the Greek islands and ports. They integrated into the local music scenes and gave shape to a new musical genre identified as “Asia Minor Song”, “Santurovioli” or “Early Rebetika”.
