Advanced Greek courses will appeal to those with a confident grasp of the fundamentals of the ancient Greek language and who want to explore a wide range of Greek texts in their original form.
Over the course of the academic year, we will read Euripides’ Ion, Homer’s Odyssey, Book 14, and select episodes from Thucydides’ A History of the Peloponnesian War, Book 4. In the process of reading these texts, we will concentrate on securing and developing the fundamentals of the language through an examination of the ancient Greeks and their literature.
The texts for this weekend are -Euripides Ion lines 1-111, 184-189, 219-263, 289-380, 429-451, 510-568, 633-675, 725-787, 832-869, 971-1047, 1106-1131, 1167-1228, 1250-1301, 1320-1461, 1523-1568, 1601-22.
