Myths and psychotherapy
Speakers: Christos Papalekas and Dr Christos Papakyriakopoulos
The presentation will be an approach to the deeper mental structures having as a tool the myth of Theseus and Ariadne, which accurately reflects the inner conflicts of the psyche mirrored in the every day human experience.
Using the Myth as a guide we will explore main values systems and their importance in emotional regulation (anxiety, depression, guilt etc.).
We will also expand on the significance of family dynamics for the psychological development of children and how mythology can inform modern parenting.
We are inspired by the links between philosophy, mythology and psychotherapy. Our axiom is the ultimate therapy, ‘KNOW THYSELF’. It is an attitude and stance to life leading man to the sacred art of ‘Well Being’ (EY ZHN).
