Kathara Deftera Celebration with Music and Food

Join us for a traditional ‘panigiri’ with Kourelou and the London Greek Collective in a celebration for Kathara Deftera. Tickets include a traditional meze plate featuring special items from Odysea, selected and presented by renowned chef Georgina Hayden. Nistisima, Hayden’s book on vegan and fasting food, will be on sale during the evening.

About Georgina Hayden

Georgina Hayden is a food writer, cook and presenter from North London. She was awarded this year’s Fortnum + Mason ‘Cookery Writer of the Year’ award, and the Guild of Food Writers ‘Recipe Writer of the Year’ in 2020. 

Growing up above her grandparents’ Greek Cypriot taverna in Tufnell Park, she developed a love of cooking from the recipes passed down to her. She worked on Jamie Oliver’s food team for 12 years – styling, developing and writing recipes for everything from TV to magazines, campaigns to ads. 

She has written 3 books – Stirring Slowly, Taverna and Nistisima, which was released March 2022. Georgina also regularly writes for publications such as Delicious, Waitrose Magazine and The Telegraph and features on Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch and BBC’s Saturday Kitchen. She is also a judge for Channel 4’s latest cooking show the ‘Great Cookbook Challenge with Jamie Oliver’. 

About the London Greek Collective

The London Greek Collective revives traditional Greek music and dance in the UK and internationally. Its core members are acclaimed musicians from Greece, performing in concerts, festivals, commercial and private events.
