Feta or Fiction: Unravelling Nutrition Myths and Facts
Thursday 02 Nov 2023
We are bombarded with advice and warnings about food by the press and social media. Avoid gluten, do not eat after 6 pm, go on a detox diet, you must eat these 5 things every day, you must never eat these 5 things, eat honey but not sugar, cut out high fat foodstuffs, cut out ‘carbs’. What is one to believe? Is there evidence for any of the above? Or are they just myths? In this talk, Dr Despo Papachristodoulou looks at the scientific evidence and tries to separate the facts from fiction.
Dr Despo Papachristodoulou is a Reader in Biochemistry and Medical Education at King’s College London, School of Medical Education. She has been teaching Biochemistry and Nutrition to medical and other students for over 40 years.
