VOX NON INCERTA: Electroacoustic Performance Drama

Stella N. Christou is a transdisciplinary composer from Cyprus. Her work involves the observation of loci and sounds as multiple spatialities and the search for unreadable algorithms that govern the connecting mechanisms between natural, artificial and mythical existences in an on-off sociality. She studied Music at the Department of Music Studies of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, majoring in Ethnomusicology and Cultural Anthropology and Visual Arts at the Postgraduate Studies in Visual Arts of the Athens School of Fine Arts.

Savina Yannatou was born in Athens. She studied singing with Gogo Georgilopoulou and later with Spyros Sakka at the Vocal Art Workshop. She graduated from the Performance and Communication Skills Department of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London with a Mousigeti scholarship. Her professional career began in 1979 with the ERT’s Programme C programme “Here Lillipopolis”. For ten years she was a member of the Early Music Workshop. Since 1992 she has been involved in free improvisation in the field of free jazz. Since 1994 he has been collaborating with the group Primavera en Salonico with whom he has performed songs from the Mediterranean on albums (LYRA and ECM) and in many festivals around the world. She has composed music for the National Theatre, the Larissa Theatre and the State Theatre of Northern Greece and for documentaries, pantomime and video art. Her discography includes around 30 albums with compositions by Greek composers, traditional songs from various countries, free improvisations and her own songs.
