Astero
Premiered in April 1929, Astero, is considered one of the most famous Greek silent films of the early 20th century cinema.
The film had been lost, but thanks to a search for lost European films by the European programme Lumiere, a copy was found and restored by the National Greek Film Archive. Following a successful projection at the Athens Conservatoire in 2016, the film will be shown at the Hellenic Centre – the way silent films have always been projected – with live music accompaniment by the composer Philip Tsalachouris.
Organised by the Hellenic Centre.
