Melina Theocharidou is best known for performing the solo role in the Greek premiere production of Duncan Macmillan’s worldwide smash-hit Every Brilliant Thing. The show opened at Neos Kosmos Theatre in Athens in Spring 2017 where it received rave reviews and thrilled audiences. It extended its run, was presented at the Athens & Epidaurus Festival as part of Bob Theatre Festival and is now touring Greece and Cyprus.
Melina’s stage credits in the UK include The Return of the Exile (Yard Theatre), Medea (Forest Fringe Festival, Edinburgh), Kiss the Shadow (Lyric Hammersmith Studio), NASA(BAC) and The Kindness of Strangers (Watford Palace Theatre).
Melina’s voice has featured in countless campaigns for radio and television, language learning courses, in-flight announcements, and TV series (Peaky Blinders, BBC). She is the voice of the Greek edition of the toy My Little Pony.
Melina’s work as a stage director includes the world premiere of William Lyons’ Socrates and his Clouds at Jermyn Street Theatre in London, Yasmine Van Wilt’s Live and Unplugged at Södra Teatern in Stockholm and Melody Parker’s Princess at Kulturhuset, Stockholm’s House of Culture & City Theatre.
Melina has also translated for the Donmar Warehouse, was the Assistant of the Master of Text at Shakespeare’s Globe in London and is a member of the Lincoln Center Theater Directors Lab in New York.
